The MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) aired last night. This is, like, the only time each year that I watch MTV (save the occasional Catfish marathon). It’s one of the few programs they air nowadays that actually centers around MUSIC.
But since I’m getting old and don’t know who half of these celebrities are, I’m focusing on what I do know–fashion.
Let’s discuss some of last night’s looks, shall we?
I read that Nicki had trouble walking in this navy blue Bao Tranchi gown. But when you look that stunning, is walking even necessary? Every curve on the rapper’s body was attended to, and her hair and makeup complemented the look perfectly.
I know many people didn’t like this look for Mrs. Kardashian-West, but I’m kind of feeling it. Although she looks a bit disheveled because her hair is wet and her dress is falling off her shoulder, I think she still looks great. Would I wear it? Only if I felt like being ridiculed that day.
Britney’s dress was as underwhelming as her performance. But I guess after you’ve danced with a huge snake, hit the stage in a flesh colored sparkly jumpsuit, and make out with Madonna, there’s not much left for you to do.
This blonde bombshell knocked it out of the park. This Georges Chakra is all kinds of YES.
Beyoncé & Blue Ivy
Although she’s giving me Muppet Meets Frozen Goddess realness here, I’m giving Mrs. Knowles-Carter a pass because of that INCREDIBLE performance!! It made me 45048540854% more excited about seeing her in concert next month! I was literally hyperventilating the entire time….this woman is incredible. *real tears*
Blue Ivy looks like the perfect little princess, though. This baby heir is too cute for words.
The Formation diva did a few outfit changes throughout the evening, because she’s Beyoncé and she can do that.
Here’s Queen Bey in Elie Saab…
…and in Yolan Cris.
The woman of honor, Ms. Robyn Rihanna Fenty-Graham (who’s here for #Aubrih after seeing Drake gush about his biggest crush?), made lots of outfit changes throughout the night as she performed 4 times. But this Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award recipient looked stunning in this Alexandre Vauthier gown. She definitely won here!
Unfortunately, in my opinion, the fashion this year was pretty bland overall.
What do you think? What were your fave (and least fave) looks of the night?
